Congratulations to our 2011 student Scholarships /Awards winners! The BJW gave out a total of  $4000 to the following deserving students :

$500 each: Jamael Dana Dean, Tony Rinaldi, Michael Ware, & Adam Zanoff

$1000 each and named co-winners of the 2011 Lary Totten Award: Isaiah Morfin & Chris Nguyen

Upcoming special BJW events for 2012:

We’re working on booking some great new clinics/concerts for 2012 for all of our fans. As usual, except for our benefit concert, these events will be FREE  to everyone.

We’ve already booked Atlantic Recording artist Thelma Jones.  This terrific gospel and R & B vocalist will be appearing on Weds., Feb. 22 (see flyer below). She’ll be backed by a band of local BJW musicians led by pianist Terry Cano.

Additionally, jazz drummer Donald Dean will be bringing his band up from Los Angeles for a clinic/performance on Weds., Mar. 14. Guitarist George Gilliam will be joining him. You won’t want to miss the return to the BJW of these fine jazz musicians!
