JAZZ TRIVIA:

Last week’s Jazz Trivia Question: The movies “Three Days of the Condor, “The Graduate,” and “The Firm” have what in common with the TV series “The Girl from U.N.C.L.E.,” “Good Times,” and “The Wild, Wild West?”

The answer was Dave Grusin, who composed music for all of them. Dan Lane and Jeff Rosbrugh were the first two to answer correctly, thus earning Jazz Trivia Expert status. Honorable Mention for also answering correctly goes to Chris Craddock and Kama Ruby. Congratulations!

Here is this week’s Jazz Trivia Question: This Oscar winning actor learned to play the sax for this Best Picture nominated film about industrial spying, but, a professional jazz musician actually “ghosted” the recorded sax parts in the movie. For Jazz Trivia Expert status, name the actor, name the movie, and name the “ghost” player.

Send your answers to bakjazzworkshop@lightspeed.net

In the meantime, check out all the jazz gigs below, support our local jazz musicians, and have a great time listening to jazz! Also, if you have any jazz gigs coming up, send us an email to bakjazzworkshop@lightspeed.net and we’ll let everyone on our mailing list know about it.
