JAZZ TRIVIA:

Last week's question:   In the 60's, this pioneer of cool jazz, who also excelled at be-bop and avant garde jazz, recorded an album of duets featuring unusual pairings of various horns. For Jazz Trivia Expert status, who is he and what was the name of the album he recorded?

The answers were alto saxophonist Lee Konitz and The Lee Konitz Duets.  Chris Craddock and Paul Cierley were the only two to answer correctly,  thus earning Jazz Trivia Expert status.  Congratulations!

Here is this week's Jazz Trivia Question:

He was known to frequent a bar because its jukebox was stocked with country music, whose songs he loved to listen to because of their stories. He once stopped during a drive in the countryside and played a tune for a "bewildered" cow after his friend mentioned that livestock loved music. For Jazz Trivia Expert status, who was he?

In the meantime, check out all the jazz gigs below, support our local jazz musicians, and have a great time listening to jazz! Also, if you have any jazz gigs coming up, just reply to this email and we'll let everyone on our mailing list know about it.
