Steve Eisen, Chief Executive Officer

Steve is from San Antonio, Texas. As a young boy, he taught himself on various instruments, concentrating his professional training on the trumpet at the U.S. Army School of Music. He then served a combined 20 years of service in the 5th U.S. Army Band in San Antonio and the 2nd Division Band in Korea. He retired in 1996 as a member of the prestigious Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps, the official escort to the President of the United States.

Upon retirement, Steve developed a very successful private trumpet teaching practice throughout the Washington, DC metro area. His youngest student, Geoffrey Gallante, was recently a guest trumpeter on the Jay Leno Show at the age of six!

Steve and his family moved out west to Bakersfield, California, in January 2006. He is a proud member of the CSUB Big Band under the direction of Doug Davis, and has been a member of the CSUB Jazz Combo under the direction of Jim Scully.

He now has a successful private/classroom trumpet teaching practice in the Bakersfield area, and is the founder/director of the Bakersfield Jazz Workshop. He has nurtured this fledgling organization since its humble beginning in the fall of 2006, and has watched it expand to its current location at the Nile Bar and Grill at 1721 19th Street in Bakersfield. Drop by the workshop any Tuesday evening and you will see and hear the best of Bakersfield jazz.
